Sublime Dark Update 23 — Early Fulfilment Begins! + Official Errata
11 days ago – Fri, Jul 31, 2026 at 06:55:39 AM

Hello there,

Fulfilment Begins!

The very first copies of Sublime Dark have started arriving on doorsteps!

Please do manage expectations though. These are just the earliest parcels, and most fulfilment hubs, particularly in Europe and North America, still have a long way to go before deliveries begin. For now, let's just be happy (and perhaps a little jealous!) of the lucky few already getting to explore Blackfell. :D

As your copies arrive, we'd love to see your photos, first impressions and unboxing pictures, so please do share them with us. :)

And please remember to use spoiler tags where appropriate so everyone can enjoy discovering Blackfell for themselves!

Sublime Dark Errata

No game of this size and scale ever reaches print completely untouched by human error. Despite extensive playtesting, editing and proofreading, a handful of corrections became necessary after the games had already shipped.

Delves:

The Doom value for each Delve should be 10 minus that Delve's Tier:

  • Tier 0 = Doom 10
  • Tier 1 = Doom 9
  • Tier 2 = Doom 8
  • Tier 3 = Doom 7
  • Tier 4 = Doom 6

You can still play using the printed Doom values if you prefer, but doing so will make the game slightly easier.

Relics:

  • Harpy's Claw: "Concerned" should instead read "Disturbed".
  • Eye of Umbra: should read "Exhaust: Play 2 extra Soul cards this Caro Phase."

Anyone who's ever named a file "FINAL_Version5_SuperFinal_THISONE" will understand my pain! :D Unfortunately, I only caught these after the games had already left the factory, so we weren't able to include a printed errata sheet.

I've attached a PDF containing the complete errata and notes for easy reference:

Printer friendly version here:

Optional Variants

The errata PDF also includes a few optional gameplay variants that we've been enjoying, if you'd like to make your adventures in Blackfell even more challenging... :D

Now We Wait...

For everyone still waiting for their parcel, thank you once again for your patience. Many more copies will be landing over the coming weeks, and I can't wait to hear what you think once you've had the chance to dive in.

Cheers!

Tristan

Sublime Dark Update 22 — Freight Shipping Underway!
19 days ago – Thu, Jul 23, 2026 at 05:09:26 AM

Hello there,

The Dark is coming — printing is complete! :D

Shipping Timelines

US & Canada: The US/Canada shipment has already been collected and is now making its steady way across the ocean, due to arrive in the US on 11th August.

It will then take a few weeks to clear customs before our US fulfilment team collects, sorts, picks and ships the games. We expect parcels to start arriving in backers' hands in early September, or hopefully even sooner. Canadian backers' parcels should begin arriving shortly afterwards.

UK, EU & Rest of World: The games are already on their way to their regional fulfilment hubs, and we're aiming for deliveries to begin in early September, or potentially even late August, depending on where you're based.

We'll post another update once fulfilment is underway, so you'll know when to keep an eye on your tracking emails.

Wyvern Moor launches on Kickstarter this August

As always, if you'd rather wait until your games have arrived before looking at our next project, that's completely understandable! As a two-person company, though, we have to keep the momentum going, so while these games are making their way around the world we'll be cracking on with the next adventure.

Wyvern Moor is the next stand-alone game using the same fantasy dungeon-crawling system as Kreel Manor, and launches on Kickstarter this August. If you'd like to follow along, you can do so here:

And that's all for now — cheers!

Sublime Dark Update 21 — Mass Production Copy & Addresses Locked!
about 1 month ago – Tue, Jul 07, 2026 at 05:53:34 AM

Hello there,

Sublime Dark Mass Production Copy Has Arrived!

It's always a slightly surreal moment when a game that has existed for over a decade as notes, sketches, spreadsheets, prototypes and late-night conversations suddenly arrives as a finished physical product.

Today, our mass production copy of Sublime Dark landed.

Rather than flood you with spoilers, I thought I'd simply film the unboxing so you can share that first moment with me.

Watch the unboxing here (or don't — your choice!):

I've deliberately kept all of the cards hidden. Discovering the people, places, horrors and stories of Blackfell is something I'd rather you experience for yourselves when the game arrives. Instead, this is a chance to admire the production quality — the box, insert, standees, the rounded tokens, player boards, rulebook, and Sublime Tales storybook and everything else that brings the world to life.

I'm genuinely thrilled with how it's turned out. After countless rounds of development and refinement, it's a wonderful feeling to finally hold the finished game in my hands.

Of course, this isn't quite the finish line yet. We'll be putting this copy through one final inspection to make sure everything is exactly as expected before freight shipping commences.

As always, thank you for helping us get to this point. Every Hall or Nothing game is a community effort, and I can't wait to get Sublime Dark onto your tables.

The darkness is almost here. :D

Addresses Locked

Addresses have now been locked for upcoming freight shipping purposes only, i.e. so we know which international hubs to send your games to. A handful of people inevitably change country at the last minute, so this helps us finalise freight shipping numbers.

If you do need to change your address, you can still message or email me directly via the usual channels.

Once freight shipping has been completed, direct fulfilment to backers will begin. We're still a couple of months away from that stage, but things are moving quickly because...

Printing is Almost Complete!

Printing for Sublime Dark, Ruined Path, and Night of Wolves is nearly done. :D

  • Manufacturing is due to complete any day now.
  • Freight shipping takes us into August.
  • Delivery into your hands is expected to be September.

This is the largest, most ambitious, and most complex game we've printed so far, so please bear with us over this last stretch.

UK Games Expo 2026

Also nice to hear Sublime Dark get a mention in this UK Games Expo roundup. "It's not for the faint-hearted." Fair assessment. :D

Thanks to Mark Monk from Ninja Geek Games for stopping by the stand and taking a look at Blackfell...

And that's all for now — have a ruddy brilliant week ahead!

Cheers,

Sublime Dark Update 20 — UKGE 2026, TGM Interview, Mass Production!
2 months ago – Tue, Jun 02, 2026 at 10:26:17 AM

Hello there,

Mass Production Copy

Here are some snapshots from the factory of the first copy off the line to keep us all going whilst we wait:

UK Games Expo 2026 — Thank You!

We’ve just returned from UK Games Expo, and despite the inevitable post-show exhaustion, we wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who stopped by Hall or Nothing over the weekend.

It was genuinely lovely meeting so many of you — familiar faces, new faces, long-time supporters, curious passers-by, fellow creators, reviewers, retailers, and generally excellent tabletop humans. These shows are always a whirlwind of demos, conversations, half-remembered names, hurried lunches, and frantic box-shuffling… and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We had a great time showing off prototypes of Sublime Dark, Night of Wolves, and Ruined Path, and it was especially rewarding seeing people sit down, poke through components, ask questions, and react to what we’ve been quietly working on behind the scenes.

A particular thank you as well to everyone who shared kind words on social about the Kilforth games and Veilwraith, 1066, 1565, 1815, and Kreel Manor — the signal boost for our tiny 2-person team (3 really, with the boy joining us this weekend) is greatly appreciated. It genuinely means a lot to us.

Massive thanks too to the UKGE organisers, volunteers, neighbouring exhibitors, and everyone helping keep the giant tabletop machine running. Biggest ever show this year, with 80,000+ attendees, it was absolutely mental!

Now — after a little decompression, several cups of tea, and perhaps a brief lie-down/coma — it’s back to work. Production continues on Sublime Dark, and there’s plenty more to tuck into with what’s coming next…

Thanks again, guys.

Tabletop Gaming Magazine — Sublime Dark Interview at UKGE 2026

The mighty Tabletop Gaming Magazine were in attendance, and we were lucky enough to be singled out for a spotlight, however galling it is for me to overcome my camera aversion! :D

And that's all for now, stay cool, stay excellent, and play games — freight-slowboat shipping soon...

Cheers,

Tristan

Sublime Dark Update 19 — Printing Commences! UKGE 2026, Wyvern Moor, and More!
3 months ago – Tue, May 19, 2026 at 06:11:52 AM

Hello there,

Printing Commences!

At last! :D

For those who don’t already know the manufacturing process, after we submit our files for mass production, the printers send back digital proofs — one final opportunity to check everything before the presses roll.

For the most part, we’ve been able to give the green light straight away, though there’s been a little extra back-and-forth on some of the more complex files (we’re juggling a novella’s worth of text here). I spotted a couple of typos, and a few small tweaks were worth making while we still had the chance — for example, updating the Sublime Dark box contents list to reflect all the extra cards and bits that found their way into the game along the journey since the Kickstarter campaign. Nothing game-breaking — just polishing things until they’re exactly where we want them. :D

Artist Spotlight: Carlos Villas

I want to give a special shout-out to our good friend and monster-maker in chief Carlos Villas, who has patiently waited since as far back as 2018 (2018!!!) for his beautifully disgusting work on Sublime Dark's Eremites to see the light of day, or dark of night as it were. Carlos illustrated our entire repertoire of hellishly sublime monsters (as well as most of the Ancients from our Kilforth games), as well as the gorgeously gothic and bleak town tiles for Blackfell and the Harrow. Thanks for your patience and commitment, Carlos, keep up the amazing work!

Here's a quick photo of me emerging from the attic office after finally finishing the design work on Sublime Dark. Either that or it's Whisper, one of the Eremites who didn't make it into the final game — until we found the perfect cameo for him...

UK Games Expo 2026

We’re delighted to confirm that Hall or Nothing Productions will be at UK Games Expo 2026 — Stand 2-904! If you’re attending the show, do come by and say hello. We’ll be bringing along a selection of games, chatting all things tabletop, and — perhaps most excitingly — showing off the prototypes of our latest games:

• Night of Wolves — our dark narrative encounter game of survival, choices, and deadly threats.
• Ruined Path — our fantasy deck-builder set in the World of Kilforth.
• Sublime Dark — our sprawling fantasy horror experience set within the nightmare town of Blackfell.

This will be one of the first opportunities for many people to see these games in person, get hands-on with prototypes and ask questions, or pick up some sweet deals from our catalogue. Whether you're a long-time backer, curious passer-by, or simply want to see what horrors we’ve been working on behind the scenes… we’d love to see you there!

Hall or Nothing Productions — Stand 2-904, UK Games Expo 2026

What's Next? Wyvern Moor!

And while production continues on Sublime Dark, Night of Wolves, and Ruined Path, we’ve also been hard at work on the next wave of Hall or Nothing projects.

Looking further ahead, development continues on Wyvern Moor: The Dungeon Crawl Card Game — our upcoming return to the World of Kilforth and sequel to Kreel Manor. So, if you’d like a glimpse of what lies beyond, you can follow the pre-launch Kickstarter page for our new standalone dungeon crawl card game, Wyvern Moor, here:

Top 20 Games for Pure Solo Enthusiasts!

Really enjoyed this — a great rundown of true solo board games (single-character, no multi-handing). Very kewl to see Kilforth and Kreel Manor included too. :D Worth a watch if you’re into solo gaming...
